Thank you so much for your support. This campaign would not have been possible without your thoughts, generosity and hard work. Everyone who has walked a precinct, made a phone call, contributed resources or sent an e-mail on behalf of the campaign – thank you very much.
To the faith communities, thank you for coming to the public arena for such a time as this. Thank you for acting on the belief that any faith can be embodied in the public square for the common good.
To the houseless community, thank you for standing up for yourselves, when no one else would. When the world discounted you, you continued to believe in yourselves. To those who recaptured their dignity and found their voice during this campaign, thank you.
To the small business community, I feel your pain and I hear your struggles. I can assure you that your voices are important, and they must be heard.
To the students who came out to support this campaign, thank you for believing that you can make a difference. You have inspired us all, and you have made a difference.
To the ethnic communities who form the patchwork that we are and who speak the 30 plus languages in our City, thank you for your voices.
Finally, to my opponents and their supporters, thank you for wanting the best for our District. Congratulations to our new councilmember, Robert Garcia. Now that the campaign is over, let us come together and continue the work of removing barriers and building bridges, so we can address the challenges that bind us together. Let us make sure that all voices are heard. Until next time ...
Peace and Blessings,
